| One Must Fall:Battlegrounds offers full support for both keyboard (default) and controller gameplay. Players have the opportunity to remap keys, assign buttons, and choose joystick movement axis in the Options menu under the "Controls" interface. |
| Moving |
| For all robots, the direction buttons are used to maneuver around the arena by walking and turning. To run, tap forward twice and hold. |
| Attacking and Blocking |
| See the legend for the default keys for each attack. Pushing the attack buttons ( , , , and will perform heavy attacks. Pushing forward with an attack button will perform a light attack. To create a "combo" attack, perform any series of moves whose momentum flows together. (For example, one simple combo for Jaguar is a right light kick followed by a left heavy punch).
When no directions or buttons are being pressed, your robot will automatically block frontal attacks. Your robot will also block if you are pushing . |
| Carrying and Throwing Objects |
Pressing will duck or pick up a nearby object. To throw an object, press the punch button corresponding to the hand the object is in. (When throwing, and influence the distance or height of the throw). |
| Evading and Countering |
To evade attacks, tap twice to one side and then tap . To counter an attack on the left side, simultaneously press + . To counter an attack on the right side, simultaneously press + . If you successfully counter, your robot will automatically perform an attack. |
| Throwing Opponents |
To throw an opponent, including an opponent who is blocking, simultaneously press and both punch buttons. |
